Christmas Patchwork Stocking

Christmas Patchwork Stocking

This pattern is based on the Victorian scrap quilt method. Where they’d use a mix of different scraps and quilt them together for an eclectic effect.

It’s a great way to use lots of random left over woven pieces and ribbons to create something useful for you, your family or for presents.

It’s a good size, roomy stocking with lots of space for presents, oranges and sweets.

As you can see, mixing different coloured patterns and solids can create completely different looks.

My favourite method is to stack cut a few different fabrics and then pick them at random to create a stocking.

I do the same with the ribbons as well and so far each stocking has come out with a fairly harmonious feel.

Ribbons can make all the different to the look. I found some really big ric rac which I think looks really fun on the stockings. And i love the gingerbread men ribbons.

Pom pom tassels, sequins and lace trims, anything goes. Just
