This is a digital download pdf pattern for a child’s hooded or collared top. Age range 2-14. (There is also an adult version bundle- click the button link below to view)
This pattern allows you to create a full armoured knight hoodie top as well as a plain normal hoodie option.
There are two blocked body options with or without armour or flat piping. There are also two different shoulder armour set choices to choose from.
It contains a full photo tutorial, a lookbook for inspiration and 2 pdf printing file options with layer features – A0 and A4/US letter sizes.
Suitable for a confident beginner and those with more experience.
It comes with a cottage licence.
Part of the Arthurian top range – The Ser Gawain and Mystic Myrddin hoods/collar are interchangable (excluding the armoured hood options), The sleeves are also interchangeable between the two patterns.
There is also an add-on armour and cloak set – the Pendragon.

This is a true over top hooded design. It has been designed with about 4cm, 1.5″ ease in both front and back so it can be worn comfortably as outerwear over other tops. It is not supposed to be a tightly fitted top. Please keep this in mind when choosing your sizes to sew.
Materials information
You will need either a sewing machine with a stretch stitch or an overlocker/serger. If choosing armour options then you will need a sewing machine.
Suitable for 4 way stretch fabrics with at least 50%+ each way. French Terry and Cotton Lycra fabric is advised
Fusible fleece or interfacing –if using armour options
Snaps and eyelets – if using armour options. Eyelets are optional

This is just an example of some of the main combinations you can use when creating your Ser Gawain top.
You can choose from two blocked fronts with or without armour or flat piping.
The blocking methods can also be used for the back as well. You can also choose a plain front and a plain back.
The armour aside from the piping can be used on the plain front and you can pick from one or two pauldron sets for any of the body options.
