Materials information

You will need either a sewing machine with a stretch stitch or an overlocker/serger. Top stitching is recommended so a sewing machine will be needed for that.

Threads suitable for the stretch fabric of choice.
Seam allowance is included
Clips or pins.

This pattern is suitable for 2 or 4 way stretch (knits, jersey) fabrics with a 50%+ stretch in one direction. Fabrics should be lightweight and have drape for the best effect e.g. summer/lightweight cotton lycra, double brushed poly, single brushed poly, rayon, viscose, bamboo, modal and fabrics which behave similar to these.

Cotton lycra and heavier fabrics can and have been used but they will give a more structured look to the garment and will have less ease.

Trim can be made up from strips of the lighter fabrics or you can use a readymade one. It needs to be light and can be woven like lace or chiffon.
